Meet the Characters
Beyond Awakening follows four central characters. Let's meet them, as they are at the opening of the first season:
Captain Mack Hardcase
Portrayed by John Gaunce
Captain Hardcase and his brother grew up slaves after their parents were murdered. His mission is to save the galaxy so nothing like that has to happen to anyone else. He's a confident, driven, some would say arrogant man who trusts his gut but also thinks tactically.
Doctor Clay Erhardt
Portrayed by David Loftus
So far, being the ship's chief medical officer hasn't brought the kind of excitement and discovery Dr. Erhardt has been seeking in his life. He hopes there'll be rare and dangerous diseases in his future and opportunities for experimental research and discovery. Erhardt's primary motivation is his own curiosity, his drive is to understand things.
Commander Misty L'Quil
Portrayed by Steff Knappe
First officer / science officer Misty L'Quil is a native of Cthunia. Like all her kind, she has many tentacles and the ability to easily overpower creatures with fewer limbs. Her people have a reputation for bravery which she sometimes regrets but must attempt to uphold.
Ensign Trisha Blackburn
Portrayed by Gwenith Knight
Ensign Blackburn's first mission on the Galactic Confederation starship
Sacramento brought her to Alpha Omega C, and left her there with a diplomatic delegation. Unfortunately, she's been having a hard time separating reality from fantasy ever since.
