I have acquired 89 MP3 episodes of Quiet Please, but I have recently noticed some OTR traders offering 91 or 92 episodes. Does anyone know how many genuine episodes do exist?
Everywhere I've ever seen, and according to all reports I've seen, there are 88 1/2 which exist. (88 full, 1/2 of "Be a Good Dog, Darling")
If anyone reports to be selling/trading 91 or 92, I'd suspect them of miscounting or of listing some of the episodes which were reruns in two spots... much as I'd like to believe there are another 3 out there. Do you have a link to any specific place that says they have 91 or 92?
I haven't been able to find any pre-Oboler Lights Out, but I can't say for sure that it's not out there somewhere. I've never read anything specifically mentioning those being missing, I've just noticed that I've never been able to find them anywhere.
host16.ipowerweb.com/~pappa...3episodes/quietplease.html doesn't list anything which I don't already have. I don't know why they show duplicates of the same episode. I downloaded the OTR Canada log and it similarly listed duplicates but listed no epsiodes I don't have. In fact, they seem to be missing "The Hat, The Bed, and John J Catherine"... perhaps others also. (To anyone who wants a CD of the series, I'd suggest http://www.otrcat.com ... no duplicates there, and I'm certain they have all 88.5 episodes.)
According to what I have discovered in my research (book copyrighted 1998) The bulk of WC's Light's Out shows are considered "Missing" Although It might be interesting to note that the summer show of Light's out from 1945 to 1947 consisted of WC's scripts.
Hopefully I'm wrong... but this may be the only way we'll ever be able to hear them.

http://www.pappawsotr.com/otrmp3shows/otrmp3shows.html offers 92.
Yes, I realise it does have 2 "repeat" slots, but do have a look anyway.
Also, there is an unlisted 92 at http://www.otrcanada.com/
Interesting area... We live in hope...
By the way, have any of the early Wyllis Cooper's Lights Out (pre-Oboler) ever been found, or they now officially laid to rest?
Thanks for answering.
Cheers,

I am interested in your 1998 book - can you tell me more? Is it about Lights Out?
Also, can anyone tell me how to get hold of a copy of Randy Eidemiller's Quiet Please booklet?

The book in which I made this discovery is John Dunning's On the Air: An Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio

One source for the booklet is here (you have to scroll down a ways to find it):
