Chappell becomes crotchety old man whining about kids these days. Somewhat valid points regarding advertising though.

I wonder if there are any recordings of his 5 minute "Quiet, Please" show mentioned there.

According to a photo caption in the September 10, 1962 issue of Sponsor magazine: "For many years Chappell made $100,000 a year in residuals from Pall Mall" -- so if anybody knows about the relationship between broadcasting and drug use, it's that well-paid pusher, Ernest Chappell. smiling face
