This is a little off topic, but I just saw a remake (or "homage") to my favorite horror movie CURSE OF THE DEMON (1959). The homage was just released directed (2009) by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spiderman) and its called DRAG ME TO HELL. I watched it not knowing it had anything to do with CURSE OF THE DEMON. Then I realized, "Hey, they basically changed the Devil Cult leader into an old Gypsy woman, and swapped the protagonist from being Dana Andrews into some young chick-- but otherwise, this is the same movie in modern times!" They did a great job of it too. They even had the conclusion take place in a train station, just like the original. So sometimes the remakes can be pretty darn good!
But if you can only see one or the other, the original is still the best.
