It's very hard to make out everything with the audio being so bad, but this is one of my favorite episodes. The story is beautiful. Sad in some ways, but real. It's the story of hope, of the endless chase life often seems to be. The seemingly endless search for real happiness.

I love the way the narrative is done, switching between the man and the woman (Ernest Chappell and his wife Claudia Morgan). A lot of it's nicely poetic, great writing as always.

Cooper had a way of making death seem like it isn't such a bad thing. Here, and in "The Evening and the Morning", "The Room Where the Ghosts Live", "The Little Morning" and "Kill Me Again" among others. In fact, if you compare with "Is This Murder?", "Some People Don't Die" and "Clarissa", death sure looks a lot better than eternal life.

You aren't kidding about the audio problems, Paul. I'm glad I had earbuds on during my midnight walk through the neighborhood to listen to this.

I'll also agree that it can be refreshing to listen to a beautiful story about two people who seek the love of their life, can't seem to connect, and remain dedicated to their cause of meeting. But it's also frustrating because after they miss once, twice, three times, four times... it gets a little monotonous. Plus, I'll bet 95 out of 100 people who listened to this figured out the ending by at least 15 minutes in.

Yeah, Cooper did like to paint dying as peaceful and almost welcoming. The business where they'll finally be together in eternity is a wonderful thought. But it seemed to be cruel, in a way. They never got to hug!

I think I've tried to listen to this one in the past on earbuds while laying in bed and fell ssleep within a few minutes. This was the first time I made it to the end and it was OK I guess. Had this actually been 1947 I probably would have been disappointed, especially after hearing the truly horrifying opening show. But next week's show (We Were Here First) will instantly revive me because it's one of my QP favorites.

I must be in the other 5%, I never guessed the room was a morgue or that they'd be meet in death.
