The other day I came across an old post from about a year ago on the facebook page of "Golden Age of Radio hosted by Max Schmid", where a guy named "Barry Grauman" had commented: "There are two transcriptions of "Shadow of the Wings" in existance [and Max has presented both over the years]- one was privately recorded {from a wire recorder aimed at a loudspeaker, I believe}...and the other was the "official" transcription disc, via ABC." www.facebook.com/maxgolden...nage/posts/483877908333889 . I got curious about it and and asked Max about it.. he replied that he wasn't specifically aware of any such wire recording, though one might exist. . Well, not that I'm seeking a poorer quality source material of the episode - but I just found it interesting!.. has anyone ever heard of a "wire recording" of that episode?
It's just a matter of curiosity of the story behind it.. If a wire recorder was used, then it most likely was recorded at the time of broadcast! |
