What happens to a person after death? Does the spirit instantly come into existence somewhere else after the body dies? Does the person simply cease to exist? Does something else happen? The point of view dead people have on these matters is unknown, but the living tend to remember the dead in symbolic ways -- a favorite chair, a book, or even a flower from the person's grave.
